The Water Cycle

In Science, we have been investigating the water cycle. The photos below show two of the experiments we conducted in order to better understand how the water cycle works. Can you guess which experiment is about evaporation and which one is condensation?

We drew around the puddle of water just before recess and we were surprised that all the water had evaporated before lunch!

We were investigating how the cold droplets of water came to be on the outside of the bottle. Some students initially thought they had leaked from the inside! Now we know that condensation occurs when the warm air (which contains water vapour) comes into contact with the cold water bottle and turns the vapour back into a liquid form.
