Harmony Day 2017

On Thursday 20 March, Room 14 had the pleasure of dressing up for Harmony Day and escorting their Kindy Red buddies in a colourful parade. In the build up to Harmony Day, we discussed where in the world our ancestors came from, placed our family on a world map and made a flag for the ceremony. We discussed the symbols contained within the flags and how lucky we are to be united together under the Australian flag.

Indiana D. shared an amazing book about her Dad's Aboriginal culture. We found out the Aboriginal names of some animals and read some ancient stories about how the turtle and the frilled neck lizard came to look as they do today.

Thank you to Mr Meachem for the wonderful photos below of Harmony Day.
